Design Your Own Labels for Your Projects

Ever wanted to design your own labels for your projects?


Since I've been making custom items, I've wanted to put my mark on it. I've searched for idea after idea and I've seen a lot of questions for the home sewing industry as to how-to make your own labels.

I've tried many, many techniques but this one by far is the best one I've run across. The possibilities are endless and you can change them or customize them for a particular product category. Click on image to get step-by-step instructions for Patchwork Pottery.

Materials:

• computer, graphics program (I used photoshop) & inkjet printer
• regular printer paper
• iron-on transfer paper
• utility knife, cutting mat & metal ruler
• ribbon (I used 1/2 inch natural cotton twill tape)
• iron & ironing board
• scissors

Materials Needed:

• 1/3 yard of 45-inch-wide woven polyurethane laminated fabric (PUL; see note below)
• 1-inch length of 3/4-inch-wide Velcro tape
• Thread in a coordinating color
• Fabric shears
• Ruler

These reusable lunch bags are cute, economical and will save you money in the long haul. Plus, they're easy to make! They're made with oil cloth which means they are water resistant and easy to clean.

• pinking shears (optional - you could just sew a traditional double fold hem to prevent raveling)
